This work is takes on aspects of both art and documentary photography. These seemingly opposite categories are increasingly blurred today and this work claims to be neither pure fact nor fiction, but somewhere in between the two. Of course, there is an interest in visual representation, its aesthetics and its politics, but there is also a broader engagement with photography itself and its ability to communicate ideas. The difficulties concerning truth, reality and its representation are open to contestation therefore the aim here is to find strategies that open up a space for accessible, ethical and meaningful representation.
